2024 Mazda CX-7 Dimensions, News, Specs, and Release Date. Mazda has a formidable SUV range on the offer in the US but it is still short of models compared to other major brands. The Mazda CX-30 sized between the subcompact and small SUV is the brand’s most recent inclusion to the SUV range but there are reports that new models should appear soon. Based on several sources Mazda might revive the CX-7 nameplate and the all-new SUV model should hit the market as the 2024 Mazda CX-7 or 2024 version.

2024 Mazda CX 7 Dimensions, News, Specs, And Release Date

The retired Mazda CX-7 was a compact-sized SUV with the on-the-road focus with no trails of ruggedness and off-road capability. Due to low demand, the model was discontinued after the 2012 model year and was effectively replaced with the fast-selling CX-5.

The new version CX-7 should reportedly be the product of Mazda’s and Toyota’s partnerships which will be building their products at a facility in Huntsville Alabama. The new Mazda CX-7 should share parts, suppliers and factory with the all-new Toyota SUV as the reports suggest. Reports indicate further that the Toyota FT-4X concept could be used as the base for the production version. If that would be the case, the new CX-7 would get a new purpose with greater off-road ability than the previous model with this nameplate.

2024 Mazda CX-7 Design

There are no many official details about the 2024 Mazda CX-7 and its design but they were contradicting reports about the model’s potential form.

The most recent reports indicate that all-new CX-7 should share components and production line with the upcoming Toyota SUV derived for the FT-4X concept vehicle. If that would be the case, the new CX-7 would adopt the Toyota New Global Architecture C-Platform. The FT-4X has 103.9 inches wheelbase which is slightly shorter compared to a 106.2-inch wheelbase of the current CX-5.

No further details surfaced about possible body form of the CX-7 if it would use the FT-4X as the base. It’s not clear would it adopt a boxy-shaped form like the mention concept model or brand’s signature KODO design language.

There were reports previously that the new CX-7 version would be a coupe-like derivative of the fast-selling Mazda CX-5.

Interior, equipment

With no prototype version spotted on the roads yet, we don’t have spy photos of the next CX-7 model and its interior.

In any case, if the model hits the roads soon the interior design should mimic the style of the current versions. There will likely be the center display with the newest intonement system sitting high on the dashboard like in the current models. Toyota uses also a similar arrangement in the newest models.

The model should also come with standard active safety equipment like the current Mazda and Toyota models. Buyers will also choose between cheaper and premium material and comfort features.

2024 Mazda CX-7 Powertrains

The 2024 Mazda CX-7 will reportedly use conventional and electrified powertrains with the possible introduction of the all-electric version latter in the life circle.

The solution for the conventionally-powered version could be the engines used in the best-selling CX-5. This model relies on the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 187 hp and torque of 186 pound-feet. The CX-5 can also be had with the turbocharged engine version delivering 250 hp and torque of 310 pound-feet. The diesel power is also possible like in the current CX-5 which gets 165 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque from the 2.2-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine combined with the six-speed automatic transmission.

The retired CX-7 was similarly powered with the 2.3-liter turbo-four engine good for 244 hp and torque of 258 pound-feet. The transmission system was a six-speed automatic unit. There were front- and all-wheel drive options with no low-range gearing and serious off-road capability. The next CX-7 could get more off-road characteristics and gear if it draws inspiration from the mentioned concept model.

2024 Mazda CX-7 Release Date and Price

The 2024 Mazda CX-7 will reportedly hit the roads in 2024 but could also be marketed as the 2024 version or even wait for the 2025 season. The price of the model could start in the mid-$20,000.

The reports about the revival of the CX-7 nameplate are still unconfirmed but the all-new Mazda SUV in any form is welcomed.
