2024 Ram Dakota Confirmed, Concept, Redesign, and Specs

2024 Ram Dakota Confirmed, Concept, Redesign, and Specs. The mid-size truck segment is live once again. There are many competitors these days and we presume that, as a major truck manufacturer, Ram would also want its piece of share. At this point, it looks very likely that the company will resurrect the familiar nameplate. The new truck is expected to come back as the 2024 Ram Dakota, according to the latest reports. It will be a mid-size truck that competes with names like Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, Ford Ranger etc.

At this point, we don’t have too many details about the new truck. Moreover, we are getting opposite reports, so there is a possibility to see this truck with a little bit unusual design. Still, we believe this won’t happen and that the new 2024 Dodge Ram Dakota will stick to its tradition and that we are about to see a typical body-on-frame truck, which will be able to deliver impressive performances and overall driving characteristics. We expect to see the new model by the end of the year.

2024 Ram Dakota Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, things are relatively clear. A familiar 3.6-liter V6 seems like a safe bet. The engine already powers Wrangler and Gladiator and seems like a perfect fit for this truck. Of course, we are talking about the version of the engine that delivers around 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.

A 2.0-liter turbo-four also seems possible. The new engine is fuel-efficient and delivers plenty of torque, which is very important when it comes to pickup trucks. The engine is good for about 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, many reports suggest 2024 Ram Dakota Diesel too. A diesel version would be highly beneficial, especially if we consider that Chevy Colorado already comes with such a version in the offer, while other companies are working on it as well. Of course, we count on a 3.0-liter V6, which delivers a pretty impressive 260 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.

2024 Ram Dakota Design

As we already mentioned, there are some quite opposite reports about the new truck. One of the things that probably comes to your mind is the platform. Although we are pretty sure that the new model will be designed in a typical BoF manner, there are some reports that suggest the new 2024 Ram Dakota mid-size pickup would feature a unibody platform. We don’t believe in such a scenario, where Dakota would share most of its parts with Grand Cherokee and similar models.

Even though we are pretty sure that the new model will ride on a traditional body-on-frame platform, there are a few more things to clarify. Some reports suggest that the new 2024 Ram Dakota will share the platform with Jeep Gladiator, which makes perfect sense. In that case, the new truck would be produced in Ohio. On the other side, there are also rumors that suggest a new truck would ride on a downsized platform of Ram 1500. In that case, the new model would be produced in Ram’s factory in Mexico.

Styling and Interior Design

These things aren’t that hard to predict. Some of them are quite easy. No matter the platform, we have no doubt that the new model will feature a styling that closely resembles the look of Ram 1500. The full-size pickup truck has been redesigned last year and features a completely new styling. We presume that the new Dakota will come with the same front and similar overall shape, just in a smaller package. Also, we count on different configurations in the offer, both in terms of cab designs and bed sizes.

When it comes to the 2024 Ram Dakota interior, we presume that a lot of inspiration will be taken from the flagship Ram 1500. Of course, we don’t expect the same level of luxury, but the new truck should come with the good overall quality and a long list of standard equipment, particularly in terms of standard equipment.

2024 Ram Dakota Release Date and Price

When it comes to the 2024 Ram Dakota release date, the latest reports are suggesting it could arrive by the end of the year. We presume that base models will go under 30.000 dollars.

Competition

Competition in the segment is getting pretty strong these days and we have no doubt that the 2024 Ram Dakota will have a lot of work to do in order to establish a good position on the market. As you already know, the Toyota Tacoma is dominating the market, while Chevy Colorado makes great numbers as well. Also, there are newcomers like Ford Ranger and Jeep Gladiator. The Nissan Frontier makes pretty impressive numbers, despite it hasn’t been redesigned for more than 15 years. The latest reports suggest this truck will finally get an overhaul in the next year. All in all, things are getting pretty hot in this segment.
