Alaskan is closely related to Mercedes X-Class pickup. While we don’t see Alaskan as a unique model it certainly has so much to offer. Renault will sell its new model on various markets and its production is happening right now in Europe and South America.
Single Engine, Two Different Outputs
The forthcoming 2024 Renault Alaskan will once again offer its current 2.3-liter dCi powertrain. This engine comes in two different outputs. According to French automaker, both units will be improved for 2024. The first output generates 158 hp and 297 lb-ft of torque. The second output has been rated at 190 hp and 332 lb-ft of twisting power.
Interestingly, both outputs are also available in the Nissan Navara and Mercedes X-Class models. The customers can choose between a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission. As we mentioned, Alaskan offers a five-link rear suspension and it will gain new disc brakes.
2024 Alaskan Exterior Facelift
The upcoming 2024 Renault Alaskan is a product of the Renault-Nissan alliance. Thanks to that, this model is very closely related to the Nissan Navara pickup. Two models are sharing the underpinnings and much more. Exterior design is another similarity for sure. Alaskan looks modern and it wears the company’s new design language. Some exterior features are not looking so innovative or unique.
The front part sports new grille and bolder bumpers. Renault’s logo sits in the middle of the front grille and the same grille host nice chrome accents. The rear part has been finished in a strange layout but some customers will surely like it. To the sides, this pickup won’t look that much upscale and it will offer standard 17-inch wheels.
Interior Enhancements
The interior of the Alaskan pickup won’t change that much. There were quite a few rumors about interior redesign but the French manufacturer denied those claims. New 2024 Renault Alaskan will get the latest updates of the infotainment system and other high-tech features. That, we don’t expect drastic changes. Again, Alaskan borrows plenty of cues from the Navara model. And just like Navara, Alaskan also offers a practical cabin with plenty of room.
Design is far from luxurious but it looks interesting and modern. There is still too much hard plastics materials and interior isn’t quite at higher speeds. Hopefully, Renault will try to improve these small issues and deliver a more pleasant pickup. A list of standard equipment is long and definitely better than on some other models that are more expensive. You should expect new safety systems that will be optional on the base trim level.
2024 Renault Alaskan Price and Release Date
The price of the new 2024 Renault Alaskan should start below $35,000. Alaskan is Renault’s attempt to slide into global markets like the reliable Nissan Navara. Alaskan is a very similar pickup so we expect good sales in the next few years. The new model will go on sale later in 2024.
