2024 Toyota RAV4 Engine, LE, Hybrid, and Redesign. The Toyota RAV4 is nearly ready to enter the new, fifth generation. The brand-new model will be released later this year, as the 2025 year vehicle. The company will have plenty of time to prepare, and improve, if necessary the first update– 2024 Toyota RAV4.

We can expect that the exterior won’t change drastically, probably some limited editions will be included, special packages and features, and minor hybrid system tweaks. The SUV market is rapidly growing, and the crossover is the best-selling vehicle in the family. We can expect to see more models each year, as well as some new classes and subclasses.

2024 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

As for the hybrid version, 2024 Toyota RAV4 will use a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder unit with two electric motors. These motors will have a sealed nickel-metal hydride battery pack, so small that can easily fit under the rear seats. This way, the cargo area stays untouched and can offer full storage space. The Hybrid will have an all-wheel-drive system, with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

Experts from the company estimate that fuel economy for the Hybrid will be 41 mpg in town, 37 on the highway and 39 mpg combined. That is great step– up from the previous model and 34/30/32 mpg. With these numbers, from Toyota expect that the Hybrid will have the best fuel economy in the class. This means that the upcoming model will be able to go nearly 600 miles with a single tank of gas.

2024 Toyota RAV4 Exterior

For the upcoming 2024 Toyota RAV4 soft, more round edges from the previous version are replaced with sharp lines and more geometrical shapes. The new model gets a taller stance and more prominent grille. The clear influence on the grille design came from the front end of Toyota’s off-road trucks, especially the 4Runner model. New RAV4 will have the angular wheel arches, a black lower body with cladding, and unique front bumper.

This bumper will be available only on the Adventure trim level. The majority of trim levels will have one color, but the Adventure version and hybrid XSE will add a contrasting roof color. For now, for the roof, the customers can choose between Ice Edge or Black Metallic. The 2024 RAV4 offers standard 17-inch wheels, but 18- and 19-inch wheels will be available.

Interior

The current version on RAV4 has one of the finest interiors in the whole class. Now, the cabin in 2024 Toyota RAV4 will look even more astonishing. The new interior looks a bit upscale, with a good amount of soft-touch materials on the dashboard and center armrest. The focal point of the center stack is a bright 8-inch screen, which is also a control center for audio, Apple CarPlay, and navigation.

The nicest thing about this infotainment system is that comes with physical buttons on the sides of the screen. You’ll find a couple of control knobs below, for controlling the temperature, etc. For the entry-level LE model, a similar 7-ich screen is available. The 2024 RAV4 offers cloth and 2-tone SoftTex seats. Leather upholstery is not available for the moment.

The XSE model adds blue accents and stitching, and the Adventure brings a little bit of orange in the mixture. All RAV4 model includes eight airbags, Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, with adaptive cruise control, and a pre-collision system. Safety Sense 2.0 includes lane departure warning with steering assist, road sign assist, and lane tracing assist. As for the audio, a 6-speaker audio system is available, as well as Siri Eyes Free and Bluetooth.

Configurations

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 will come in ten different versions. Let’s separate them into the standard and hybrid engine groups, to avoid the confusion. Surely, the vast amount of trim is one of the main attributes of the Japanese company. The new model will be more adjusted for off-road adventures. It will not include the TRD package, which can be found in the larger 4Runner.

As an alternative, the new RAV4 Adventure Grade will try to achieve similar results with Trail Edition. This is a special upgrade, made for a better-off-road drive. The standard engine group consists of LE, Limited, and sporty HSE HV model. The LE is a base model and comes with a decent amount of equipment.

The Limited adds a larger screen, larger wheels, and JBL’s 11-speaker, 800-watt Premium Audio system. The HSE HV gets a unique suspension tuning, and if you need the powerful crossover at the best fuel economy rating, the HSE HV is the one for you. More power often means a higher price tag, and it’s true in this case.

Engine

All versions of forthcoming non-hybrid 2024 Toyota RAV4 will have a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine under the hood. That is exactly the same drivetrain that was used for the previous generation. The engine goes through some fine-tuning, to gain more power and better fuel economy. This unit is capable to develop 203 hp with 184 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission will be 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Fuel economy for this model is 26 mpg city/35 mpg highway/30 mpg combined. That is a significant increase from the gasoline-powered 24-26 mpg combined fuel economy. The most important improvement surely is the new all-wheel drive, and torque vectoring system. It won’t be available for the base model. The front-wheel-drive remains a standard system for 2024 Toyota RAV4 LE.

2024 Toyota RAV4 Release Date and Price
