2024 GMC Canyon AT4 Pictures, Release Dates, and Price. New Canyon pickup truck will arrive with mid-cycle refreshments. There were some rumors about its redesign but that will not happen. Instead, the 2024 GMC Canyon AT4 will arrive as a true refreshment. The AT4 is an off-road package and it adds a couple of interesting upgrades.
The goal is to improve off-road ability, add a higher ride, new suspension, and a standard four-wheel-drive system. As for the regular Canyon, don’t expect any major updates for 2024. This pickup truck will go on sale by the end of 2024, most likely in the last quarter of the year.
AT4 Offers Diesel Engine
The arriving model will be a carryover in terms of performance. That means all of the trim levels and special edition will use the same powertrain option as before. The 2024 GMC Canyon AT4 comes with a standard 2.5-liter gasoline engine. This four-cylinder unit delivers 200 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. Optional 3.6-liter V6 is more recommended as it provides 310 hp and 275 lb-ft of twisting power. There is a 2.8-liter diesel that is optional.
This powertrain cranks out 180 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of torque. If you choose one of the gasoline variants, GM offers Active Tow System. Still, diesel comes with better towing capacity, up to 8,000 pounds. The AT4 will focus on off-road ability and it will offer a higher ride and a standard 4WD system.
2024 Canyon AT4 Exterior Upgrades
Some things are clearer after the latest batch of spy photos. The 2024 GMC Canyon AT4 will arrive with numerous upgrades, which is great. The prototype has been spied with more extensive changes, especially up front. The goal is to deliver a design that looks closer to the Sierra model. The front fascia looks squared and the grille has been reshaped. The AT4 version looks more aggressive and it comes with unique off-road tires.
GM will work on a new suspension. New AT4 will offer better traction and better stability. The corners are looking rounder than on the regular Canyon and lower opening is definitely bigger. Canyon will continue with its GMT 31XX platform. Some reports are suggesting a next-gen model in 2024 and this model will ride on new VSS-T architecture.
Interior Won’t Change Significantly
The mid-size pickup truck will offer a very practical and modern interior The 2024 GMC Canyon AT4 will get additional high-tech equipment as a part of mid-cycle refreshment. Most of the interior will remain intact. There is no need for radical changes as the interior looks upright. GM will provide the latest infotainment system and usual phone integrations.
Unlike regular Canyon, the AT4 version comes with more safety features. The cabin is roomy and the seating layout won’t change either. Canyon AT4 is available in a Double Cab setup exclusively. Over the base model, this off-road variant is slightly better in terms of technology and comfort, but nothing spectacular.
2024 GMC Canyon AT4 Release Date and Price
The price of the all-new 2024 GMC Canyon AT4 starts at $40,000. To compare, regular Canyon has been priced at $30,000. GM will release its new model later in 2024, most likely in the last quarter of the year.
