2024 Tesla Cybertruck: Price, Release Date, and Powertrain. Undoubtedly, the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck is a unique vehicle in the automotive industry. The California-based company will deliver a pickup with a six-seat crew-cab configuration, and similar dimensions of a Ford F-150. What catches the attention is the angular exterior design and a sharply peaked roof. Well, you don’t see a pickup with such odd design language every day, that’s for sure.

2024 Tesla Cybertruck: Price, Release Date, And Powertrain

You’ll notice numerous fine details about this vehicle, that distinguishes Tesla’s truck even further. There are no external mirrors on the vehicle. Nor you’ll find camera pods. Next, the wheel spokes reach over the tire sidewalls. The unpainted stainless steel bed and cab are entirely incorporated into one piece, using unibody construction, similar to the one on the famous Honda Ridgeline model.

The release date of the Cybertruck is scheduled for late 2024, with a starting price of $39,900 (single-motor version), and $49,900 (dual-motor). The impressive tri-motor variant will be available in 2024, with a price tag of $69,900. The expected driving range of a single-motor model will be 250, while the dual motor offers 300 miles.

2024 Tesla Cybertruck Specs

2024 Tesla Cybertruck comes with almost identical dimensions as Blue Oval’s F-150. The overall length of the pickup is 231.7 inches, with a 6.5-feet bed. The Cybertruck’s width is 79.8-inches, which is the same as F-150. The peak height of Tesla’s model is 75-inches, which is 2.2-inches lower than Ford’s crew cab version.

We don’t know the price ride height, since the forthcoming pickup will include a four-corner air suspension as standard. The tailgate will feature a built-in extendable full-width ramp, while the bed is covered with a built-in tonneau, which merges into the sloped roof. The payload capacity is awe-inspiring, with a heavy-duty-like 3,500 pounds.

Towing Capacity

Well, if for nothing else, towing is the main reason why people love trucks. The upcoming 2024 Tesla Cybertruck is rated at 7,500 pounds (single-motor), 10,000 pounds (dual-motor), and 14,000 pounds (tri-motor version). There’s still a dose of skepticism when it comes to the towing capacity and the electric pickups.

The Model X is rated at 5,000 pounds. Yes, the physical act of pulling the load wouldn’t be a problem. In the long term, the electric pickups might face obstacles regarding the range and recharging. Just like on the regular gasoline-powered truck, the efficiency is lower, due to extra weight. With the towing capacity of 10,000 pounds, we can only expect the reduction of range.

2024 Tesla Cybertruck Price

2024 Tesla Cybertruck will offer three versions: the base single-motor version, dual-motor, and the top-ranking tri-motor variant. The single-model base Cybertruck comes for $39,900. The towing capacity of this version is 7,500 pounds, while the 0-60 mph acceleration in 6.5 seconds.

The singe-motor model provides around 250 miles of driving range. Next, we got the dual-motor AWD model, with a starting price of $49,900. This variant pulls up to 10,000 pounds, accelerates to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, and travels approximately 300 miles in between charges.

On the other hand, the range-topping tri-motor AWD truck starts just under $70,000. According to the company, this model will be capable of towing 14,000 pounds, with the 0-60 mph acceleration in 2.9 seconds. The driving range should be around 500 miles. Autopilot will be part of the standard equipment for all versions.

You can pay an additional “full self-driving” feature. Well, this feature still needs to be confirmed. The deliveries of the base RWD and dual-motor AWD will begin in late 2024, while the tri-motor version comes on year later.

Competition

Quite exciting things are happening in the electric pickup truck segment. Well, we saw some concepts, prototypes, and announcements last year. Technically, none of these trucks exist at the moment. The same case is with the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck. We expect that the main rival will be the upcoming Rivian R1T.

It’s one of the pickups that reveal some of the specs. We know that the R1T will be able to tow 11,000 pounds. It might be the first electric pickup that arrives on the market. The release date is scheduled for the end of the year.

Ford and GMC also announced the development of electric trucks. The F. 150 will get a hybrid and electric version, but it is planned for 2024. The Chevy electric truck was exposed during UAW union negotiations. The release date of this model is scheduled for the second half of 2024. All in all, the idea of the all-electric pickups is becoming a reality. We have to wait and see which model shall come first to the market.
