2024 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition: Redesign, Price, and Specs. The upcoming 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition is the latest model in the company’s lineup. At the same time, Japanese manufacturer introduced the Nightshade Edition, available on Tundra and Tacoma models. As for the Trail Edition, this model is based on the SR5 trim level and double cab configuration.
Toyota plans to sell 7,000 units and sales will start this summer. If you seek off-road adventures, Tacoma Trail Edition is the model for you. It adds capability and you can expect numerous mechanical upgrades. The exterior is slightly modified and the interior will also host a couple of improvements.
ENGINE SPECS AND MECHANICAL UPGRADES
The same 3.5-liter V6 that powers regular Tacoma will power the Trail Edition variant. This reliable gasoline V6 is producing 278 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition will also deploy a 6-speed automatic transmission. This off-road variant also provides a 6-speed manual gearbox. Basically, in terms of performance, nothing will change.
On the other hand, the Japanese automaker will provide small changes under the shell. That includes modifications on brakes, suspension and much more. Tacoma pickup can tow up to 7,000 pounds and it reaches from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds. A two-wheel-drive system is standard, like on the regular Tacoma SR5 version. Speculated hybrid powertrain won’t be available on the Trail Edition.
2024 TACOMA TRAIL EDITION EXTERIOR CHANGES
The all-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition will also arrive with blacked-out features as the Nightshade Edition. Thanks to that, expect a sleeker appearance that is also more premium at the same time. The front fascia hosts a black grille with badging and it looks very upright. The cool thing about this version is its modified color palette.
Trail Edition offers Cement, Army Green, Midnight Black, and Super White exterior colors. Toyota offers a unique 18-inch TRD off-road set of wheels. Kevlar all-terrain tires are available as standard. Overall, it is a unique appearance that makes Tacoma looks more aggressive and more handsome.
INTERIOR WILL GAIN MORE EQUIPMENT
On the inside, this mid-size pickup truck will look very modern and interesting. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition offers black seats with nice tan stitching. This special version provides standard all-weather floor liners and more equipment in general. Thanks to new floor liners, the interior will be easier to clean after the adventures in the mud. Nightshade Edition is built on the premium Limited trim level. That will not happen with the Trail Edition that is based on the SR5 trim.
Because of that, don’t expect any type of luxury inside the cabin. Toyota will provide the features available in the SR5 model and slightly more than that. A 115-volt power outlet is available, just like the lockable storage boxes. Expect new Toyota’s 8-inch touchscreen to be in the offer, along with the new air vents.
2024 TOYOTA TACOMA NIGHT EDITION ARRIVAL DATE AND PRICE
The approaching 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trail Edition will cost around $30,000 or slightly above that. The price is relatively affordable due to its close resemblance with the SR5 trim level, which isn’t expensive.
To compare, Nightshade Edition is based on the Limited trim and it will cost around $40,000. Toyota will release new editions this summer and Trail Edition will be sold in 7,000 examples.
