Ever since last year rumors about an all new 2025 Dodge Barracuda started to surface. Well, it seems that this car might be in fact the successor for the Challenger.
2025 DODGE BARRACUDA DESIGN
While it will be its direct successor, it should be smaller, more efficient and a lot faster. There is still no clear information on what chassis or engines the car will use. Luckily we do know that Dodge is not going to use Alfa’s rear wheel drive platform.
This is both good and bad. The Alfa platform is among the best out there and it is highly modular. Because they are not going with it, Dodge might have a better option for the future Barracuda.

The rear wheel drive unibody design will be kept. Instead of being heavy and bulky like the older one, the new chassis will be smaller, lighter and a lot more structurally rigid.
This will make the upcoming 2025 Dodge Barracuda a much better car to drive. The Barracuda should still be big enough to carry up to four people without any issues.

Considering it may receive a longer wheelbase, the Barracuda could also offer more interior space. Its price should also be quite similar to that of the ongoing Challenger.

The price and Dodge Barracuda 2025 release date have not been made public by the manufacturers. Some rumors say that the launch date will be somewhere around 2025 and it will cost more than $ 60,000. Potential buyers could expect to get something better than what they have achieved in the previous version of Barracuda.
2025 DODGE BARRACUDA ENGINE
Unlike the ongoing model though, the new Barracuda is expected to make use of all turbocharged engines. This is because all manufacturers have to improve their fuel efficiency ratings massively by 2025.
It might seem like a bad move at first but let’s not forget that everyone is doing it. When it will be released, the car will likely get three different engines.
The base model should feature a 2 or 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with anything between 270 and 330 horsepower as well as around 300 lb-ft of torque. This will be the replacement for the old V6 and a good alternative to its competitors.
Further up the range, the car is expected to get all twin-turbocharged engines. A 3 liter V6 with around 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque should be available. The top of the range, as well as the Hellcat on the other hand, are both expected to receive a 3.8 liter V8.

Far there is still very little information on how the 2025 Dodge Barracuda is going to look. Many said that it may combine the look of the current model with some inspiration from the past.
We are not so sure about this. We do believe that Dodge will release an entirely new look for their future models.
This should give them an edge and it will definitely allow them to make a better image for themselves. The same should happen inside the cabin where the Barracuda will be an entirely new car.
