2024 Dodge Durango Redesign, Price, Specs, and Engines. It looks like the 2024 Dodge Durango will continue without bigger changes if we can trust the latest reports that circulate on the internet. The familiar model is the only remaining body-on-frame SUV from Chrysler and it seems it will stay for some time more.

The original version came almost two decades ago, in 1998. Far, we have seen three generations of it. While the first two versions were in production for a 5-6 year each, the current model seems to go to have much longer production life. It is present since 2010 and current circumstances suggest that will continue for some time more.

We have already seen several updates and the last one was just recently when we saw an ultra hi-performance SRT version. This recent update suggests that the current model will carry on for few more years at least, while possible redesign or discontinuation shouldn’t happen before 2024.

2024 Dodge Durango Engines

The base 2024 Dodge Durango will continue with the familiar V6 engine. This unit has a displacement of 3.6 liters. It features a max output of 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes in a pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which delivers power to rear wheels in standard or all wheels in an optional package. Average fuel economy goes around 21 mpg.

As we already mentioned, R/T comes with a V8 engine. It is a 5.7-liter unit with a max power of 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. This engine also comes with an 8-speed automatic and returns around 17 miles per gallon.

There is an SRT version. It comes with a 6.4-liter V8 engine, which has a max output of 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

2024 Dodge Durango Redesign and Features

The 2024 Dodge Durango will most likely come without bigger changes. This version of the familiar SUV is present for almost eight years and we have already seen several updates. The first one was in 2014. We saw a refresh of the exterior design and this styling is still active. The 2024 Durango will come with pretty much same appearance, which includes those refreshed headlights and several other details.

There were two additional updates in 2015 and 2017, but those weren’t so significant. These refreshes were more about new standard equipment and trim level reorganization. It is important to mention that the company presented a completely new, hi-performance trim recently. This version comes with plenty of power but also features several unique design characteristics. Several reports claim that the current model will continue with the production for an additional few years, so don’t expect bigger changes for 2024 Durango.

2024 Dodge Durango Equipment

New hi-performance SRT, 2024 Dodge Durango will come with four other trim levels in the offer. The base SXT model will come with standard features like 18-inch wheels, foglamps, heated mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, cruise control, three-zone climate control, 5-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio etc. The next one is called GT. This one adds things like 20-inch wheels, LED running lights, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, 8.4-inch touchscreen, satellite radio etc. A familiar Citadel adds leather upholstery, roof-rail crossbars, a sunroof, a power liftgate, a cargo cover, and several other things.

There is an R/T, which includes standard features pretty much like Citadel but comes with a V8 engine, an upgraded steering system, a sport-tuned suspension, red accent stitching, and a Beats audio system.

2024 Dodge Durango Release date, Price

Since we probably will not see bigger changes, 2024 Dodge Durango should come in usual time. This means somewhere in late 2025. We don’t expect changes in price. Base models should go around 40.000 dollars, while the SRT will probably go around 65.000 dollars.

Competition in the segment is pretty familiar. There are models like Toyota Sequoia, Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Traverse, Ford Explorer, and many others.
